Co-Curricular Opportunities
The music department offers many additional opportunities for students to be involved in music making both at lunchtime and after school. Weekly choir rehearsals take place in the main stateroom in school and we perform a very wide range of music, including everything from Music Theatre, traditional folk music and pop music. We perform regularly at school concerts and other events.
There is a weekly Songwriting Club where students learn from professional mentors from the Song Academy and perform gigs at the world-famous Troubadour (Earl’s Court), a historic live music venue that has hosted performances by artists such as Jimi Hendrix and Elton John. Students have the opportunity to record and enter competitions with the potential of record deals should they be successful.
There are currently two very popular Rock Band clubs which rehearse weekly to prepare for regular performances at school events and concerts, along with opportunities to go to composing clinics, ukulele club and more.
Music Technology
Students will use a variety of Music Technology platforms during their time at school, such as Soundtrap and Sibelius to help them compose and realise their own musical ideas.
