The children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum – commonly known as the EYFS. It is play-based learning and we focus on the 3 prime areas initially for the under 3’s– Physical Development, their Personal, Social and Emotional Development and their Communication and Language.
Once these are established, we move into the remaining four areas of the curriculum – Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Art and Design. The Nursery teams plan activities for all 7 areas of the curriculum and the children enjoy messy play, construction, mark making which progresses to writing, creative activities, cooking, music, dance, role play, gym etc. There are regular trips to our local libraries for storytelling and borrowing books to encourage early reading.
We recognise the importance of outdoor play and all our children play outside in the fresh air every day. We are fortunate to be near fantastic London parks and Squares which we visit frequently.
