Congratulations to last year’s Year 11 cohort who received their GCSE results this morning.
This was a year group who were heavily impacted by the pandemic and hybrid learning. This, along with the government’s grade deflation strategy to return to pre-pandemic numbers, meant that this year’s Year 11s were facing a heavy headwind. Indeed, it is a testament to their resilience, tenacity and commitment to success that they battled through and overcame these obstacles.
Thus, it is with great elation and pride that we communicate the following results:
- 7-9 (A-A*): 40.7%
- 4-9 (C-A*): 91.9%
It is important to note that this bucks the national trend: where the majority of other schools suffered a decrease in their results from last year, Eaton Square Senior School students achieved higher results. Moreover, the students achieved excellent results in English and Maths, areas of concern for many across the country due to the imposed stringent assessment criteria.
Another area to highlight is the success in Languages, where the results for French, Spanish, Russian, Italian and Arabic were:
- 7-9 (A-A*): 90%
- 4-9 (C-A*): 100%
These results are not just outstanding, they are sector-leading, and a credit to Eaton Square Senior Schools outstanding teachers, international flair, and the determination of our students.
Most importantly, we are delighted to report that our Value-Added scores across the board are extremely positive. All of our students have demonstrated excellent progression from internal examination points in November and February, and this is a credit to their work ethic and to the hard work from their teachers who put in so many additional hours to support.
We are thrilled that many of these students will be continuing their educational journey with us in our Sixth Form. This bodes well for our A Level results in two year’s time but also for having an educationally vibrant Sixth Form community.
