On Wedneday, Mr Richard Fletcher, Director of Learning and Performance at Dukes Education attended Eaton Square Senior School to deliver the Dukes Accelerated Teacher Pedagogy Programme.

Richard joined Dukes Education as the Director of Performance in 2018. His main focus is on learning and development and oversees all training opportunities across the Dukes family. He also works to develop and maintain a strong support network for the whole group. In his role, Richard monitors performance in areas of wellbeing, leadership, and teaching and learning, and promotes various group-wide initiatives to ensure the needs of everyone across the group are met, so that Dukes Education can provide the best education possible.

The aim of this programme is to support our teaching staff in their roles and to help them to unlock potential in each and every student at Eaton Square Senior School. The programme is designed to develop knowledge and skills in all areas of teaching pedagogy. Through both analysis and discussion, various tried and tested techniques, and tools were explored during this programme to support teaching staff who wish to develop, refresh and enhance their study of the craft of teaching. The ATP is a cross-phase teaching and learning pedagogical model with collaboration and evidence of what works in the classroom at its core.

The programme uses the Teach Like A Champion (TLAC) framework and focuses on a few of the core techniques taken from Doug Lemov’s work, each staff member were also gifted a copy of Lemov’s Teach Like a Champion 3.0 publication to help enhance their knowledge and techniques even further. Following this programme, our teaching staff will gain a deeper understanding of the latest innovative pedagogy and develop the knowledge, skill, and mindset to make a significant impact on our students and inspire others to become outstanding practitioners.

At Eaton Square Senior School we believe in lifelong learning and are committed to professional development for all staff members. We encourage our staff to develop their careers, nurture their ambitions and help them grow professionally. As part of the Dukes family of schools, we have access to a wide range of unique CPD opportunities to enrich each and every staff members working world.

We would like to thank Richard for visiting our Senior School and delivering such a fantastic programme, that will assist our staff to professionally develop even further in their teaching journey.
