Pupils took to the playing field this week to participate in their first cricket session of the summer term, with experienced players demonstrating their fantastic skills and complete beginners discovering how the game of cricket is one to be enjoyed!
The focus during the first cricket session has been an introduction to batting, bowling and fielding. As we progress through the summer term, we are looking forward to developing skills and techniques further whilst moving into technical and scenario sessions.
There is certainly much to look forward to this term with cricket fixtures starting in May, where we are looking forward to fielding a variety of teams from the different year groups. We also have our annual House cricket tournament which will be taking place in the penultimate week of the summer term.
The P.E department has been delighted to see the enthusiasm and attitude towards cricket sessions during this first week of term, and more importantly the smiles and enjoyment from the pupils during Games afternoons.
