EAL – Text Structure

During this Spring Term, EAL students have been working very hard and have shown enough progress to prove their success in their EAL lessons. They have been looking at different text structures and they can now confidently identify and explain how has the information been organised within a text: in chronological order, showing contrast and similarities, sequencing ideas or highlighting, problems and solutions, and causes and effects.

The pictures below show two of our students from Year 8, Alex and Javier, working together as a team trying to figure out how the information is organised in each of the texts given in the minimum time possible.

They showed good reading skills while identifying the main transition and signal words and highlighting the main genre of each text.
