International Families

A global community, rooted in warmth and belonging

A School Where Every Family Feels at Home

At Eaton Square Prep School, we are proud to welcome children from a rich range of international backgrounds. Our pupils bring languages, traditions, and perspectives from across the world, creating a community that is both diverse and deeply connected.

Although our families join us from many different countries, the atmosphere at Eaton Square remains warm, personal, and nurturing. Every pupil is known as an individual, and every family becomes part of a community that values kindness, respect, and shared experience.

Admissions Designed for International Families

Joining a new school, particularly when moving to a new country, is an important moment for any family. Our Admissions Team is highly experienced in supporting international applicants and ensures that the process is clear, thoughtful, and welcoming from the very start.

To help us understand your child’s learning journey so far, we ask families to submit their most recent school report, with an English translation if needed. This allows our academic team to make an informed decision and plan appropriate support where helpful.

How Places Are Allocated

Children applying to Eaton Square Prep School are considered holistically. Places are allocated based on:

  • The latest school report and/or reference from your child’s current school
  • A trial day at Eaton Square Prep School
  • An interview with the Headmistress
  • A CAT4 assessment (for entry into Year 3 and above)
  • An English as an Additional Language assessment, where relevant

If it is more convenient for families, interviews and assessments can be carried out online, ensuring accessibility for pupils who may still be overseas or relocating.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

For pupils who are new to English or continuing to build their confidence, we offer a well‑structured English as an Additional Language programme.

Every child joining us is assessed individually so we can provide the right level of support from the outset. This may include one‑to‑one teaching, small‑group sessions, or in‑class support to help pupils access the curriculum with confidence. Above all, our aim is to help every child feel secure, expressive and happy in their use of English, academically, socially and creatively.

Our EAL Provision

  • Individual and Small‑Group Teaching to strengthen key language skills
  • In‑Class Support for subjects with specialist vocabulary
  • Booster Groups for comprehension, spelling and targeted skills

Child Student Visa Sponsorship

Eaton Square Prep School is licensed to sponsor Child Student visas for pupils aged 4 and above. Families who require visa sponsorship are warmly encouraged to speak with our Admissions Team early in their application.

In keeping with sponsorship guidelines, families must demonstrate that they have the financial means to support the child while living in the UK, as the accompanying parent is not eligible to work during this period. This is typically evidenced by paying the full first year’s fees in advance, but it can also be established through other acceptable forms of financial proof.

Once financial capability has been confirmed, we are able to issue the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) required for the visa application.

Working in Partnership with Embassy Families

Our school has strong experience supporting children from diplomatic families, including those connected to the Chinese, Korean, Turkish, and United States of America embassies. We understand the distinct needs of families who may be relocating frequently or navigating different education systems, and we work closely with parents to ensure a smooth and positive transition for their children.

Proud to Belong to Dukes Education

As part of the Dukes Education family, Eaton Square Prep School benefits from a wide network of educational expertise. International families can access additional services, such as tutoring and language support, which can be particularly helpful for children preparing to join a new school and a new community.
