Lorna Jones

I am a qualified secondary teacher with a Level 3 CPCAB certificate in counselling children within a play-based setting, awarded by Place2Be. I hold a degree in French and English from Leeds University and began my career as a solicitor in the City. More recently, I have worked with Place2Be, running a play-based therapy room in a large London state primary school.

As a parent of two children, aged 20 and 14, I am passionate about supporting the emotional wellbeing of pupils at Eaton Square Prep School.

The Listening Space is a warm, empathetic, and non-judgemental environment where children are welcomed with unconditional positive regard. Each child is free to express themselves in their own way—whether through words, creative arts, play, or a combination of these. This approach allows children to explore and process feelings that may be difficult to articulate. The child leads the process, choosing the materials and pace that feel right for them.

The Listening Space offers time for children to simply be themselves, without pressure to mask their thoughts or emotions. Often, play and creativity become soothing and valuable tools in the journey of self-expression and emotional discovery.
